Our team invests in the music therapy profession by providing quality internships, job opportunities, and industry consultation.

Internships

The Music Therapy Internships are offered twice per year starting in June and January, depending on the intern's availability. After receiving completed application and facilitation video, the clinical director will contact you about setting up an in-person or Skype interview, depending on the applicant’s location.

The intern should expect to accumulate professional clinical experience through a diverse spectrum of multi-disciplinary and multi-cultural patient and family care. Therabeat, Inc. incorporates the philosophy of family- centered care into every aspect of its clinical practice.

Upon acceptance to the internship, a legal affiliation agreement between the student’s university and Therabeat ,Inc. is required. Interns will not be allowed to start their internship until this agreement is complete.

Meredith Hiatt MM, MT-BC Meredith completed her undergraduate degree in Music Therapy in the Spring of 2011 at Florida State University before starting her internship with Therabeat, Inc. in the Fall of 2012. After she completed her internship hours she went back to FSU to get her Master's degree in Music Therapy.  She completed her Master's degree in the Summer of 2014 with her thesis titled: "Parental Awareness and Perception of Music Instruction in an Early Intervention Program."  Meredith has been living in Muncie, Indiana for almost 3 years and works for Bridges of Indiana serving persons with developmental disabilities. She and her co-worker plan to create their own internship program very soon and she looks forward to passing on her knowledge and skills to future MT-BC's. She currently has 27 clients (ages 2 - 60) on her caseload and loves every minute of it! Though she is still getting used to the Midwestern winters she enjoys spending time with her boyfriend Zack, her friends and her wonderful church family where she is now part of the Praise Team every Sunday morning.

Lydia is forever grateful for the investment Jen made into her life by casting a vision to be a business owner.

I wouldn’t trade my internship experience for anything! The women of team Therabeat truly pushed me to do my best and I felt inspired by them every day. Having the opportunity to co-treat with other therapists in the clinic was another great addition to the internship experience. I loved being able to see how different areas tackle the same things we do in music therapy! Those 6 months really made me the MT I am today.
