Therapists

   Jennifer W. Puckett, MT-BC, NMT, Owner
Jennifer completed her music therapy degree at the University of Georgia. She remained in the Atlanta area for her music therapy internship with the Fulton County School System, working with children with special needs. She is a licensed Kindermusik® educator and is a member of the Music Therapy Association of Georgia, American Music Therapy Association, Down Syndrome Association of Atlanta, and FOCUS (Families of Children Under Stress). She holds national board certification in music therapy, is a credentialed Neurological Music Therapist, and is a credentialed Early Intervention Specialist. Jennifer will be getting her Infant Massage Certification in June 2009. Jennifer has been active in her community and church serving as choir director, drama director, and other positions in the music ministry. Jennifer resides in Cherokee County with her husband Brian, and their daughter Carlynn Grace. Jennifer is the Owner of Therabeat, Inc and Co-Owner of In Harmony Pediatric Therapy.

   Jamie George, MM, MT-BC, Assistant Director/Music Therapist
Jamie George has been with Therabeat, Inc. since 2007. She received a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Music Theatre Performance from Western Michigan University, and a Master of Music, with a concentration in Music Therapy, from the University of Georgia. She is a nationally board certified Music Therapist, and completed her graduate research studying music therapy and its effects on children with sensory processing disorder. Jamie completed her Music Therapy internship with the Fulton County Public School System, working with children with special needs. She is a member of the American Music Therapy Association, and serves as treasurer for the Music Therapy Association of Georgia. She is a licensed Kindermusik® educator and is in the process of becoming a certified NICU-MT and a credentialed early interventionist. Jamie is currently conducting research on music therapy interventions during non-embryonic stem cell therapy. Jamie is an accomplished vocalist, and comes to the Atlanta area after having performing for several years in New York City and Disney World, in Orlando, FL.

   Emily Demers, Office Manager
Emily graduated from Georgia College & State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology. She also received an Associate of Arts degree with a concentration in Education from Young Harris College. She has 2 years experience working with children with special needs, and spent some time working for Babies Can't Wait.

   Cheryl McClements, Kindermusik Educator
Cheryl is a Kindermusik(R) educator who has spent most of her life asa vocal performer and actress. Her life-long love of children, and her experience with multiples and children with Autism will assist her in providing you and your child a magical, memorable time together in the classroom.

   Susannah Jones, MT-BC, Music Therapist
Susannah earned her Bachelor of Music in Music Therapy degree from the University of Alabama. She is a board certified music therapist and a Kindermusik educator. Susannah is a member of the American Music Therapy Association as well as the Music Therapy Association of Georgia and looks forward to becoming more involved in these organizations. She is also serves on the Research Committee for the Southeastern Region of AMTA.

 Kirby Smith MT-BC
Kirby C. Smith, MT-BC, is the newest addition to Therabeat, Inc. Kirby completed her Bachelor of Music degree in Music Therapy at the University of Alabama in 2007. Since completing her internship with the Fulton County School System, Kirby has worked in the public school setting serving students with special needs ages pre-k through 12th grade. She has recently completed her Teaching Certification in Music Education with Georgia State University, and is now pursuing her Masters of Music Therapy degree at Georgia College and State University. Kirby is a member of the American Music Therapy Association and the Certification Board for Music Therapists. She is also a member of the Music Therapy Association of Georgia where she serves as the Membership Chair.
